HOW TO REACH PENANG FROM KUALA LUMPUR
CAR: It is around 350 km from Kuala Lumpur to Penang and it takes 4-5 hours and may be more during the holiday season. You can take the AH2 highway From Kuala Lumpur to Penang, petrol pumps are every 30 to 40 km.

1. PENANG HILL
Penang Hill is the most visited place in Penang. Almost every tourist visiting Penang plans their trip to Penang Hill. It is also known for the Steepest tunnel tram/train, tram takes 10-12 minutes from base to Penang Hill. During your ride you have the opportunity to experience lush green views on both sides. Playing in sand is fun for all age groups and so the water sport activities. 4. SNAKE TEMPLE
Snake Temple was Built in 1805 for Master Chor Too Kong, a defined Buddhist Monk. This Chinese Temple is situated at Bayan Lepas, Penang. People say that Buddhist Monk used miracle power in healing sick people and used to give shelter to snakes. And Snakes used to Visit this temple after the Master died. You can enjoy visiting Snake Temple and clicking Pictures of Snakes, Dragon eye wells.
5. KEK LOK SI TEMPLE
The Kek Lok Si Temple is situated at Air Itam, Penang. This Temple was Built over a period of 1890 to 1930. It is one of the largest Buddhist temples in Malaysia. This temple has more than 10,000 Buddha Statues and the Biggest Statue of Kuan Yin made with bronze. Many Buddhist from China, Philippines, Hong Kong visit Kek Lok Si Temple during Chinese New Year and Light the Lamps to devote their prayers. This Temple has colorful prayer rooms, beautiful green gardens, Ponds with turtles and Fishes.
6. PENANG FLOATING MOSQUE
The floating Mosque also known as Tanjung Bungah Floating Mosque was built in 1967 and expanded in 1977 so it may accommodate 500 worshipers. After that again extension started in 2003 as the population was increasing. It was opened to the public in January 2005 and now Mosque can accommodate 1500 worshipers.
If you are planning to visit then the best time to visit is during high tide as, It was built near the sea, only at high tide would it appear as floating on water.
